Death Investigation Initiated After Structure Fire Call

September 2, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) Monday morning at 12:08 am, Minneapolis Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a structure fire on the 2600 block of 13th Avenue South.

While extinguishing the fire, personnel located a deceased adult male.  The adult male suffered from injuries not associated with the fire.

The Minneapolis Police Department has started a death investigation. Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department Homicide Unit have interviewed people in the area who may have seen or heard something. No one is in custody at this time.

The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab responded and processed the scene, collecting evidence for further analysis.
