Shots Fired Call Leads to Fatal Shooting Victim

September 21, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) Just before 1:00 am Saturday morning, Minneapolis Police were notified of a ShotSpotter activation on the 3900 block of Humboldt Avenue North. While squads were in route, multiple 911 calls came in reporting a shooting.

Officers arrived and located an adult male (in his 30’s) outside suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Officers began emergency aid until they were relieved by paramedics.  Other officers secured the scene and canvassed the area.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department Homicide Unit have interviewed people who may have seen or heard something. No one is in custody at this time.

The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab responded and processed the scene, collecting evidence for further analysis.

The identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death, will be released by the Medical Examiner in the coming days.
