Evening Shooting Leaves One Deceased and One in Critical Condition

October 11, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) Friday night at 6:25 pm, Minneapolis Police Officers responded to the area of the 2200 block of Aldrich Avenue North on a report of the sound of shots fired.

Responding officers were flagged down by a driver at 17th and Lyndale Avenue North and told the officers that there was a person in his vehicle that had been shot.  Officers went to check on the person and found that he had no pulse or respirations.  Officers removed the adult male victim from the car and attempted life saving measures to include, but not be limited to, CPR.

While officers worked to save the victim’s life, additional officers responded to the area on Aldrich Avenue North. They located no additional victims.  While searching the area, Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) notified 911 that an adult male shooting victim had just arrived at their emergency room and the victim was in critical condition.

The victim on 17th and Lyndale was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.  The victim at HCMC is in critical but stable condition.  Preliminary investigation indicates these two individuals are involved in the same incident.

Officers and investigators canvassed the area immediately after the shooting and spoke with individuals.

The Minneapolis Police Department crime lab responded to both of the scenes and collected evidence.

The identity, along with the nature and causes of death, will be released by the medical examiner in the days to come.

There is no one in custody at this time.
