November 10, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Saturday, November 9th, at 4:45 pm, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department responded to the 4600 block of Lyndale Avenue North on multiple 911 calls and a ShotSpotter activation. Information from callers ranged from the sound of shots fired to a report of a motor vehicle crash.
Officers arrived at the scene and located and adult male in his 30s, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers preformed life saving measures until they were relieved by Fire personnel. The victim was transported to North Memorial Health Care where he died several hours later.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries, MPD Homicide Unit Detectives were called to the scene. Officers and investigators canvassed the area immediately after the shooting and spoke with individuals.
The Minneapolis Police Department crime lab responded to the scene and collected evidence.
The identity, along with the nature and causes of death, will be released by the medical examiner in the days to come.
An individual was originally detained in this case but has been released. There is no one in custody at this time.
