November 28, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Thursday, November 28th, Minneapolis Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call requesting an ambulance to a residence on the 2600 block of James Avenue North. When the call taker asked for additional information, the caller stated someone had been shot.
Officers arrived on scene quickly and located an adult male. He was stopped and detained. An adult female, in her 30’s, was located inside the residence in grave condition suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately rendered aid, including CPR. The victim was transported to North Memorial Healthcare where she died a short time later.
Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department Homicide Unit canvassed the area with additional officers. They spoke to numerous people who live in the area.
The adult male was arrested was transported to the Minneapolis Police Department to be interviewed. A gun was recovered at the scene.
The Minneapolis Police Department crime lab responded to the scene and collected evidence.
The identity, along with the nature and causes of death, will be released by the medical examiner in the days to come.
