January 3, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) In the early morning hours of January 3, 2020 the Minneapolis Police Department arrested Cedric Lamont Berry, age 41, in connection with the murder of Monique Baugh on December 31, 2019.
Berry has been booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center on Probable Cause Murder. Berry’s booking photo is being withheld in accordance with Minnesota State Statute 13.82.
This remains an open and active investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
Female Dies After Shooting
December 31, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Tuesday evening at 6:38 pm., Minneapolis Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 1300 block of Russell Avenue North.
Upon arrival, officer located an adult female, believed to be in her 20’s, lying outside in the alley gravely injured by what is believed to be gunshot wounds. Officers provided medical aid until they were relieved by paramedics. The victim was transported to North Memorial Medical Center where she died a short time later.
The Minneapolis Crime Lab responded and processed the scene. Homicide investigators responded and spoke with numerous people who live in the area.
The identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in the coming days.
No one is in custody at this time.
This is the 48th homicide this year in Minneapolis.
