Charges Filed in New Year’s Morning Murder

January 3, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) Today the Minneapolis Police Department referred this case to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office for reviewal and charging.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has charged Kevin Jarmaine Christians/DOB: 06-27-1981 with one count of Murder in the 2nd Degree – Without Intent – While Committing a Felony.

Christians remains in the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center awaiting a first appearance on January 6, 2020.

Arrest Made in First Homicide of the Year

January 3, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Thursday evening, Minneapolis Police made an arrest for the homicide that occurred January 1st in the area of Broadway and Fremont North.

Kevin Jarmaine Christians/DOB: 06-27-1981 was placed under for the stabbing death of Jabir Ahmed Ali. Christians has been booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center on Probable Cause Murder.

Two People Stabbed Resulting in the Death of One Adult Male

January 1, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Wednesday morning at 4:54 am, Minneapolis Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Broadway and Fremont Avenue North.

Officers arrived in the area and located a car that had two adult male stabbing victims in it. One victim was in extremely critical condition while the other had non-life-threatening injuries. Officers immediately began life saving aid until relieved by paramedics.

One of the stabbing victims died at the scene while the other was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by ambulance.

During this time, another emergency call came out of a vehicle crash at 18th Avenue North and Emerson Avenue North. Squads from across the city were summonsed to help address the surge in the demand for resources. It is unknown at this time if this crash is related to the stabbing or not.

The Minneapolis Crime Lab responded and processed the scene. Homicide investigators responded and began their investigation.

The identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in the coming days.

No one is in custody at this time.
