May 17, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Saturday evening, May 16, 2020 at 7:30 pm, the Minneapolis Emergency Communications Center received a ShopSpotter activation in the area of the 3000 block of Dupont Avenue North. While en route to the scene, it was updated to a shooting.
Officers arrived and located an adult male victim, believed to be in his 40’s, lying outside suffering from apparent gun shot wounds. Officers provided aid until they were relieved by paramedics. The victim was transported to the North Memorial Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery.
Additional officers immediately cordoned off the area and investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Violent Crime Investigative Division were called to the scene along with the Crime Lab personnel.
The Minneapolis Police Department were notified that the victim died overnight at the hospital.
A death investigation has been launched. Officers also canvassed the area and spoke with several people.
