June 8, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) – On Monday morning at 5:19 am, Minneapolis Police and Fire responded to a report of a multiple vehicle crash at the intersection of Lowry Avenue NE and Marshall Street NE. 911 callers reported that one vehicle was on fire.
Officers and firefighters arrive and found one of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames and two others damaged. Fire personnel extinguished the fire and assisted police in rendering aid to other injured parties. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary information is that one vehicle was westbound Lowry Avenue NE and another vehicle was southbound Marshall St NE. After the initial collision, one vehicle spun and struck an eastbound vehicle on Lowry. The collision occurred in the intersection. The intersection is controlled by stoplights.
The Minneapolis traffic unit and Minnesota State Patrol responded to map and processed the scene.
The identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in the coming days.
