Male Dies at Hospital Hours After Shooting

October 4, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) – This morning at 2:23 am, Minneapolis Police officers responded to the 4300 block of 46th Avenue South on a report of a person shot.

Officers arrived and located an adult male in critical condition inside a building. The victim was suffering from gunshot wounds.

Preliminary information is that a dispute occurred, and it escalated into a shooting.  The suspect fled prior to officer’s arrival.  The victim is believed to be in his 30’s.

Due to the seriousness of the injuries, homicide detectives were sent to the scene to start an investigation.  The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab responded to process the scene and collect evidence.

During this investigation, investigators were notified from the hospital that the victim in this case died.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity, along with the nature and cause of death, in the coming days.
