October 11, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) – On Sunday afternoon at 2:52 pm, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department responded to multiple reports of the sound of shots fired in the area of Plymouth and Logan Avenues. Additional 911 callers reported seeing a male down on the ground appearing to be in distress.
Officers arrived and located an adult male, in his late teens, on the ground without a pulse or respirations. Officer began CPR and wound management until relieved by paramedics. Officers were able to regain a pulse and breath on the victim. Additional officers cordoned off the area and began to speak to people who may have seen or heard something.
The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he underwent surgery.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries, detectives from the Homicide Unit responded to the scene. The Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence.
The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
