October 14, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) – On Wednesday evening at 9:34 pm, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department responded to reports of the sound of shots fired in the area of the 3500 block of 19th Avenue South.
Officers arrived and located what is believed to be an adult male on the ground without a pulse or respirations. Officer began CPR and wound management until relieved by paramedics. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. Additional officers cordoned off the area and began to speak with people who may have seen or heard something.
The Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence. The Homicide Unit sent detectives who have started their investigation.
Preliminary investigation reveals that, based on evidence at the scene, the victim and suspect(s) likely knew one another.
The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
