Dispute Leads to Death of Another After Shooting

November 5, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Thursday morning just before 3:00 am, 911 calls came into the Minneapolis Emergency Communications Center reporting a shooting that happened in a parking lot on the 2200 block of Lyndale Avenue South.

Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound laying outside of a business.  Officers provided medical care for the victim until relieved by paramedics.  The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by an advanced life support ambulance.  The victim was in grave condition.

A short period of time later, the Minneapolis Police Department was advised that the victim in this case died at the hospital.

Preliminary investigation indicates that two persons got into a dispute and shots were fired.  Evidence at the scene leads investigators to believe the individuals knew each other.

Homicide detective and personnel from the Crime Lab responded to the scene as part of this investigation.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
