November 24, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) – On Tuesday morning at 1:25 am, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department responded to 3800 block of Girard Avenue North on a ShotSpotter activation.
Officers arrived and located a vehicle that had struck several parked cars mid-block. Officer located an adult male, believed to be in his 50’s, in the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers removed the victim from the vehicle and found he did not have a pulse or respirations. Officers began CPR until relieved by paramedics. A short time later the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Homicide investigators responded to the scene and, along with officers from the 4th Precinct, interviewed people who may have seen or heard something.
Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence.
The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
