On Monday, August 27th the Community Engagement Team, School Resource Officers and U of M Officers welcomed back students at Loring Elementary in North Minneapolis. The Red carpet was rolled out for the students. Officers and staff gave them high fives and fist bumps as they entered for the new school year.

On Tuesday, August 22nd MPD officers presented a new bicycle to a young girl, Lucinda Gilbert, at the Windom Park Neighborhood meeting. Lucinda organized the neighborhood’s block party for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 7th. Officer Mike Kirchen purchased the bicycle for Lucinda.
