On Wednesday, September 12th the Community Engagement Team hosted both Coffee with a Cop and My Free Little Mobile Library at McDonald’s (916 West Broadway) in the 4th Precinct. Beat officers and chaplains served coffee and handed out books to the community and customers. Officers had great conversations and made new contacts for future engagement.

On Thursday, September 6th the MPD Community Engagement Team spent the day at the Hiawatha Encampment talking to residents, playing with the kids and handing out treats. The officers were well received and welcomed at the encampment.
MPD Officer Mike Kirchen was presented with the Award of Prestige from the Hawthorne Huddle & Youth Coordinating Board. The award highlights his efforts in building lasting relationships with youth in Minneapolis through humility, passion and respect.
