On Tuesday, November 13th the Community Engagement Team Officers visited the Ronald McDonald House to hang out with awesome kids and staff! Officers handed out basketballs and played with the kids during recess in the gym. Sgt. Gomez read stories to the kids during a class and also had a Q and A session.
On Friday, November 9th the MPD Community Engagement Team officers walked a foot beat at the Hiawatha encampment. For the colder weather, MPD received a generous donation of hand/toe warmers and mittens from one of our partners. Officers handed these items out, talked and listened to the residents of the encampment.

On Friday, November 2nd the Minneapolis Police Department and Mayor Jacob Frey teamed up to serve lunch to over 100 people at House of Charity. Officers and the Mayor enjoyed connecting with guests and helping them out. They also handed out free basketballs.
On Wednesday, October 31st the Minneapolis Police Department Community Engagement Team visited the Hospitality House for Halloween and handed out treats to kids for the after school program. Officer Dillard donated and put together the grab bags for the children. Officers also played basketball and games with the kids in the gym.
On Sunday, October 28th the MPD Community Engagement Team joined other Minneapolis First Responders for the 1st annual Hero-ween at the Minneapolis Fire Department’s museum in the 2nd Precinct.
