On Tuesday, July 31st the MPD Community Engagement Team and St. Paul Foundation hosted ‘Safe Summer Nights’ BBQ at Farview Park. The community and officers enjoyed food and good conversations. The next Safe Summer Nights event will take place on Tuesday, August 14th from 5 to 7pm at 2500 Cedar Ave South.
On Friday, July 27th Officers from the Community Engagement Team spent time with the children at the Ronald McDonald House. Officers and kids conducted science experiments and played in the park. The kids really had a great time and were given ice cream sandwiches at the end.
On Thursday, July 26th the MPD Bike Cops for Kids, Community Engagement Team and Community Service Officers delivered a brand new hot dog stand to 13-year-old Jaequan Faulkner. Jaequan’s stand at 1510 Penn Ave N was permitted by the City on Wednesday, July 18th.
On Thursday, July 26th Officers from the Community Engagement Team volunteered at the House of Charity. They served 200 meals to guests. Officers volunteer at least once a week at this organization and have developed friendships with the community members.
